Perched atop the Zabarwan Mountain Range in the heart of Srinagar, the historic Shankaracharya Temple is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this ancient temple attracts thousands of visitors throughout the year.
Standing at an altitude of 6,170 feet above sea level, the temple combines spiritual significance, history, and breathtaking views. From its elevated location, you can enjoy magnificent vistas overlooking Srinagar and the beautiful Dal Lake.
About the Trek
While a 6-kilometre motorable road provides easy access to the temple, taking the forest trail offers a completely different and more rewarding experience.
The trail has all the charm of a Himalayan hike, winding through the lush, dense forests of the Shankaracharya Hill. It is a popular route among local hikers, birdwatchers, and mountain bikers, making it an excellent way to experience Srinagar’s natural beauty away from the usual tourist routes.
The well-maintained trail includes occasional viewpoints where you can pause and admire stunning views of Dal Lake and Srinagar City.
With an easy difficulty level, this trek is also suitable for families and children. It can be a wonderful first trekking experience for young adventurers, with our experienced trek leader accompanying and guiding you throughout the journey. Special attention is given to the safety and comfort of children along the trail

What is Included?
- Meals: You will be given all the refreshments during the trek including a packed lunch(Only Vegetarian food).

- Safety Equipment: First Aid including Medical kit, Oximeter etc. will be available all the time to deal with the emergencies.
- Trek Permits and Camping Charges:Â All the applicable trekking permits, Camping Charges, Forest Entry Fee, etc will be paid by us.
- Transportation: Transportation from Srinagar & back is included.
What is Excluded?
- Personal Expenses: Any personal expenses incurred during transit from srinagar or during the trek is not included.
